Virus infection from E-Mail - Tip #1

A majority of the computers that come into our repair shop for work have some sort of spyware or virus infection on them. Some of these infections come from E-Mails. You should watch out for E-Mails that don't seem quite right. Most people think that malicious software gets in from the spam e-mails that everyone gets from unknown or random senders, but most infected E-Mails will appear to be coming from a friend. Usually that person or someone in their address book will become infected and that Virus will send itself out to everyone in the contacts.  You should be careful with any E-Mail that has a file attachment or a link to a website or file. That file or website could easily infect your system even if you have an updated anti-virus. Make sure that any files your friends send actually are coming from them, or better yet, Don't open any files or links in E-Mails. Hope this tip helps someone out there.
